BIM4BIPV - Future aspects of building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) in cross-system BIM planning
Research into an end-to-end BIM planning flow for energy-optimised, building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) that simultaneously generates solar energy, enables optimal use of daylight and provides shading.
BIMBestand - BIM-based management of existing buildings
The objective of this research project is to develop information requirements and process descriptions for the application of BIM models related to building services in facility management and to demonstrate the lifecycle-oriented use of these models in an open BIM environment. For this purpose, software solutions for the use of IFC in the open-source platform SIMULTAN and building management software are developed and evaluated on the basis of four typical use cases.
BIMSavesEnergy - BIM-based planning-methods for the assurance of energy-efficiency in the building process
The Building Information Model (BIM) brings about fundamental changes in the planning and construction of buildings, as the common base makes it possible to work closely together across disciplines in construction projects. In this project, BIM-based planning methods were developed, which make the influence of planning decisions on energy efficiency quantifiable and controllable in the management process.
BIMaterial Process Design for Material Building Pass
Building Information Modelling supported compilation of a Material Building Pass; as a qualitative and quantitative documentation of the material composition of, and the material distribution within, a building structure. This project is a central milestone towards standardized, BIM-generated building material passes.
BIMpeco - Environmentally relevant product data in collaborative BIM environments
Construction products can pose a risk to the environment and health due to their pollutant content or releases. In the BIMpeco project, workflows and data structures for digital information management of this environmentally relevant product data are developed. For this purpose, the new ISO standards ISO 23387 and ISO 19650-1 are tested and synchronized with established process flows. The project results will be made available on an open-source basis and can be integrated into any Common Data Environment (CDE) that complies with the standards mentioned. The BIMpeco project is the first to lay the foundations for product information management of environmentally relevant properties in the CDE, covering the entire lifecycle and supply chain.
BIMstocks - Digital Urban Mining Platform: Assessing the material composition of building stocks through coupling of BIM to GIS
The main goal of BIMstocks is the development of a method for the digital capturing of the material composition of the existing building stock for follow up modelling of an Urban Mining Platform as well as for the prediction of the recycling potentials.
BIO4GAS: A small capacity 4-chamber-biogas system for the efficient production of biogas from agricultural wastes
Implementation of an innovative and economic small capacity 4-chamber-biogas system in standardised design at the agricultural school Rotholz, Tyrol, and scientific studies to optimise biogas yield. Characterisation of process relevant micro-organisms is also planned.
BIOCOOL - Bio-inspired Surfaces for the Evaporation Cooling of Building Envelopes
The BIOCOOL project will explore the transfer of morphological principles from leaves of deciduous trees, with optimized thermal properties and efficiency of evaporation to the parametric design of form-optimized architectural ceramic surfaces for climate control of building envelopes. The study paves the way for an industrial research project.
BIPV-Booster - Game changer for façade-integrated PV systems: Development of proof-free constructions regarding fire protection
The central result of the project will be the development of a catalogue of “proof-free constructions” with regard to fire protection for façade-integrated photovoltaic systems, particularly for the more difficult case of high-rise buildings. These constructions will be defined in the project and tested in fire tests. The fire tests are to be supplemented by electrical and material-related module tests before and after the fire tests.
BLISS - Business GuideLines Inducing Social Sustainability
Business GuideLines Inducing Social Sustainability (BLISS): a practical guidance based on the instrument 'social performance analysis', its adaptation and application in a pilot enterprise.
BONSEI! Optimal use of existing buildings – energy efficient implementation of renovation!
The project BONSEI! would like to support an energy efficient and socially acceptable densification of privately owned residential buildings in urban space and to develop a methodological basis for resource efficient urban areas. The results are used for the conception of an innovative service in order to provide a neutral consulting regarding private densification plans.
BTTAB - Broad-based testing of energy-efficient demonstration buildings with thermally activated building components
Buildings with thermal building component activation that have not yet been researched in as many federal states and application categories as possible will be monitored, which will include operating data as well as the experiences of those involved. The aim of this study is to take a general look at the various applications of the thermal building component activation technology and to evaluate and compare the pilot projects with the help of suitable evaluation criteria.
Baden climate neutral - Climate neutrality roadmap Baden near Vienna
The city aims to become climate-neutral by 2040.
Balancing Energy Demand with Buildings
The project BED aimed to the development of new concepts for the operation and application of building automation systems in non residential buildings to reduce the maximal energy consumption and to ensure a stable and high-quality power supply.
Basic research on the load bearing capacity and high thermal insulation properties of foam glass granulate
The aim of the scientific investigations is to find the characteristic parameters of foam glass granulate applied as load transfer layer and thermal insulation, to provide the base for the application of a multi functional and economical insulation material at the interface between building and ground for buildings of the future.
Beacon of innovation gugler cross media, ecoeffective zero energy cross media enterprise featuring zero-emission, zero energy, zero waste
The aim of the flagship project is a new dimension of sustainability (cradle to cradle, ecoeffective zero energy enterprise) for business operation and building, which means zero emission, zero energy, zero waste. This will be shown on the basis of a beacon of innovation: Gugler GmbH, a modern sustainable media services enterprise (traditional print and new media) will extend their current building from about 2100 square meters and about 90 employees to about 5,000 square meters.
